Torch
Torch stands for Technical Outreach, Community Help. TORCH combines engineering expertise with community outreach through programs such a technical workshops to teach adults and K-12 students about engineering. BESS has a weekly TORCH program on Tuesdays at 6pm in Roxbury, MA. BESS members can volunteer to serve on a committee to help with planning and/or attend the weekly sessions. Pre-College Initiative (PCI)
The goal of the pre-college initiative program is to increase interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math to K-12 students in order to encourage them to attend college and pursue technical degrees. BESS hosts an annual Pre-College Initiative conference for local middle and high school students. BESS members can volunteer to serve on a committee to help with planning and/or attend programming.
